Multi-factor authentication adds an additional layer of security to your interopiO® Console User account. interopiO supports two-factor authentication (2FA) that can be used with most Time-Based, One-Time Password (TOTP) applications.
Turn On MFA
Before you set up MFA for an account/individual user, the user needs to download and install an authentication app on their device. interopiO MFA can be used with most Time-Based, One-Time Password (TOTP) applications, such as:
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Duo Mobile
- Last Pass Authenticator
For Account Users
In order to turn on MFA for your own interopiO User account:
- Navigate to the "Users & Permissions" page in your interopiO account.
- Under "Current User" press the menu button.
- Select the "Enable MFA" option.
- Read the message in the dialog box.
- Press the "Enable MFA" button.
- Next time you login you will be asked to scan a QR code by using your device's camera.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code that your authentication app generates.
- Click "Confirm".
From there on you'll be asked to enter a code from your authentication app every time you log in to interopiO.
For Account Owners
Turn On MFA For Individual User
In order to turn on MFA for an individual interopiO User:
- Navigate to the "Users & Permissions" page in your interopiO account.
- In the User List find the specific user you want to turn on MFA for and press the menu button.
- Select the "Enable MFA" option.
- Read the message in the dialog box.
- Press the "Enable MFA" button.
- The user will be asked to complete the MFA enrollment process next time they login.
Turn On MFA For All Non-SSO Users
If you want to require all of your non-SSO users on this account to use MFA, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the "Users & Permissions" page in your interopiO account.
- Expand the "Authentication Configuration" options panel.
- Open the "Minimum Required Authentication Level" dropdown.
- Select the "MFA for non-SSO" option.
- Click the "Save Auth Config" button.
- All users of this account will be asked to complete the MFA enrollment process next time they log in.
Locked out?
If your MFA device is lost, damaged, or not working, you can contact an account Owner to manually reset your MFA for your user. If you are the only account Owner please contact support@interopion.com with help to reset your MFA.
